When to Order Your Santa Suit: Shipping Times, Processing, Returns, and the Dates That Matter

The saddest email we get every December starts with "the party is tomorrow." We move fast, but a Santa suit is not a pizza. There's a processing window, a shipping window, and a return policy that rewards the people who ordered in October. Here's the whole calendar in one place, built from our shipping and refund policies, so you can work backwards from your dates and order once. Start With the Santa Calendar, Then Work Backwards

Write down every date Santa is expected: the tree lighting, the office party, the school visit, the family photo, Christmas Eve. Take the earliest one, then subtract shipping time, processing time, and a cushion for trying the suit on and fixing anything that's off. For most families, that math lands in mid-October for a late-November first appearance, and no later than the first week of December for Christmas Eve.

Processing: 24 Hours Most of the Year, 24-72 Hours in Peak Season

Most of the year we process orders within 24 hours of the time the order is placed. During our peak season, September through December, processing typically increases to 24-72 hours. That's the window between "order confirmed" and "handed to the carrier," and it happens before any shipping clock starts. Expedited shipping doesn't shorten processing; it shortens the trip afterward.

Shipping Options: Free Ground Over $99, 2-Day, and Overnight

Rates depend on the weight and dimensions of your order and where it's going, and the exact methods and rates for your cart are shown at checkout. The headline: standard shipping is free on orders over $99, which many suits in our Santa suits collection clear on their own, and a suit plus a beard set nearly always will. Here's how the three tiers behave, per the policy:

• Free and ground shipping: typically delivered 3 to 5 business days after the day it ships out. Rural and remote areas can take longer, and holidays and weather can slow things down.
• 2-Day Expedited: arrives 2 business days after the day it ships out.
• Overnight Expedited: arrives on the next business day after the day it ships out.

Two rules that trip people up every year: we ship only within the United States (orders outside the contiguous US may take additional time), and we cannot ship to a PO Box, so please use a physical address. Deliveries can arrive as late as 8pm local time, so don't panic at 5:30.

"Ships Separately": Read the Product Page

Some suits carry a special shipping note. The Men's Rich Velour Santa Suit, Large ($122.99 at time of writing), for example, says on its page that it ships separately from other items in your order. That means a beard or hat in the same order may arrive in a different box on a different day, which matters if you're ordering close to a deadline. The Men's Complete Velour Santa Suit ($48.99) carries no such note and already includes beard, hat, gloves, belt, and boot tops in one box, which is why it's our go-to suggestion for "I need it this week."

Returns in Plain English

Our refund policy is strict, and it's worth reading before you order rather than after. The short version:

• Return requests must be made within 30 days of receipt of the order.
• Customer service must authorize the return in advance. Items sent back without authorization are refused.
• Once authorized, the item must ship back within 15 days.
• Everything must come back with the original labels affixed, with the name and order number of the purchaser.
• Refunds exclude return shipping, handling, and a 15% restocking fee, and may take up to 60 days to process.
• Costumes are returnable only in unopened, unblemished original packaging. An opened suit stays with you.
• Wigs, beards, and facial hair are not returnable, ever. That includes every set in our Santa beards and wigs collection, such as the Professional Santa Wig & Beard Set ($80.99).
• After October 5th, it can take up to 60 days to process a return after we receive it, because of the volume we see from mid-October through mid-November.
